Resize an image by exact dimensions or scale
Pixel mode is useful when a website, form, profile, or layout requires a specific width and height. Percentage mode is convenient when every image should become proportionally smaller or larger. The displayed result dimensions let you check the calculation before exporting.
Keep the aspect ratio to avoid distortion
An image's aspect ratio is the relationship between its width and height. With one image, changing either dimension updates the other proportionally. With a batch, width and height become maximum bounds and each image fits inside them proportionally. If you unlock it, the image is stretched to the exact width and height; this tool does not crop the image or add padding.
Choose PNG, JPG, or WebP output
The resizer accepts static JPG, PNG, and WebP images. Animated WebP and APNG input is rejected so frames are not silently discarded. PNG and WebP can keep transparent areas; JPG fills them with white. Every output is newly encoded, so original image metadata is not retained.
Resizing changes pixels, not just file size
Downscaling removes pixel detail and usually reduces file size. Upscaling creates more pixels by interpolation but cannot recover detail that was absent from the original. If your only goal is a smaller file at the same dimensions, use an image compressor instead.
